disappointment with a dash of desperation~

today we had our little 'interaction' session with our juniors. it went ok, so far i've met 2-3 juniors and they look like a pretty cool bunch. what's not cool is the number of them! k, before i start ranting, let me offer a lil' explaination or rather a crash course in FEES 101.

last year, there were 65 pharmacy students and 22 biotech + food science students and practically not enough seniors to buy our books from. prices were hiked up sky high [i paid rm 350 for my stuff] we were like cash cows for our very very lucky seniors. everyone went home happy cos they sold all their wares [except maybe us lar]

but guess what?! this year they decided to make a lil' change. fees for the 3rd and 4th year of our course will be paid in aussie dollars. hence, an extra of ~50,000 grand! so... like true malaysians, the number of applicants reduced.... from what the others counted, there were only about 40++ students.... and among them?! only 4 biotech + food science students... [it's gonna be a lonely year for them]

so...... 60++ seniors ---> 40++ juniors =??????? many unsold books = poor seniors :(
i didn't manage to sell any of my stuff... blame it all on my poor marketing skills.. [ slap slap yhwee*] oh well... look on the bright side, at least i can start my 'mini' library ahead of schedule [ya, like 20 years in advance?]
